What will be the games of the future? What experience will they give us? Will they be just VR games? There are many questions, but few answers. This is normal, technologies are developing so rapidly that it is already very difficult to predict something even in the near future. However, we can make some assumptions based on the development directions and technologies that market leaders choose. Not so long ago, Square Enix, a Japanese video game developer, published the vacancies signaling that the company wants to focus on developing an action game for the next generation of consoles on the official site. How they plan to develop in this direction and what kind of people are they looking for? Read on!

Square’s First Development Division

First of all, we couldn’t find some notable details about upcoming projects (most likely, the company wants to keep these details secret for now). But we know for sure that Square Enix is interested in people who have the relevant experience to join the following teams:

♦ 2 new IPs: action game experience and Luminous Productions;
♦ Unknown HD title by third business development that Naoki Yoshida is involved in;
♦ Next HD Kingdom Hearts;
♦ Next HD Dragon Quest.

By the way, if you feel that you can try and become part of one of these teams, you can fill in the form on the official site.

In 2013, the company made the restructuration of their development stuff, splitting them into 11 separate departments. The First Development Division was planned to be the front and the most innovative department. Now, it will be working on a new title, name or other details of which are unknown. The company’s representative only said that this game “takes a step forward from the existing action game framework”. Also, we know exactly that the lead developer will be the person who has experience with creating “AAA class” games in different parts of the world.

Moreover, Square Enix struggle to focus their attention on producing more games for the next-generation consoles, for example, the upcoming PlayStation 5.
