Subnautica review
Subnautica is an underwater survival adventure game with elements of horror. You will deal with an alien ocean planet full of unique creatures, threats, and beautiful sceneries. This is an open world inviting you to explore it if you are not afraid of the nightmare. You should survive in that dangerous depth trying not to alert the sea dwellers. You will feel even fear when you are in the open water without any idea of the dwellers of this inky black place. There is tension when you are chased by a shark.
Indeed, this is a perfect template of the genre being fantastical, beautiful, fresh, and frightening. The story will keep you involved till the last level. Be sure that there are so many secrets here, that you will replay this game a lot of times to discover all of them.
Storyline 10/10
The story of this title is quite well written. You will escape into this picturesque world for more than 50 hours and enjoy it every minute. Here the sci-fi mystery is a nice addition which makes it more interesting and engaging to play. There are a lot of side quests revealing various secrets of this alien ocean world. Be ready for the atmosphere rich in intrigue and danger.
When you launch the game, you will find yourself crash-landed on the ocean planet. If you want to leave it, you should go down under the ocean water passing by the coral reefs and lava fields. You will meet a lot of both dangerous and helpful creatures here. Travelling around, you should keep your oxygen supply under control in order to be able to explore the surroundings, those engrossing underwater forests and winding cave systems. Remember that the time is restricted. You should find food, fresh water, and build the equipment needed to explore. You will pick up the vital resources from the ocean. The deeper you dive, the rarer resources you find allowing you to create the powerful items, build reliable diving gear and convenient habitat modules.
You are suggested to navigate using the map with comprehensive landmarks. Moreover, the radio will deliver the clues mentioning the right direction.
Graphics and Sound 10/10
The graphics are striking. Each biome can boast of a strong visual identity and diversity of alien life including the recognizable creatures and completely fantastic ones. Submerging is extremely realistic and this effect is increased with the excellent watery sounding. The audio will help you to understand what types of monsters are near you. Here the sound design is smart emphasizing the dangerous moments and increasing your fear. There are distant or not distant noises or roars of uncertain origin.
